This moving/warping vector images technique was implemented by AmuseWorld on its Ez2 series arcade machines (Ez2Dancer and Ez2DJ), and as we all know, most AmuseWorld devs, artists and tech went to build Pentavision after Konami sued, so from DjMax Online (PC) to Portable 2 (PSP) and Trilogy (PC) most BGMs are moving vectors.įun Fact: Ask to the Wind live ver. The drawback is that BGMs often made no sense. The upside is that you could use cheaper hardware to make the games, smaller HHDs to store the music, or make huge soundtracks using little to no storage space. I think it was until Exceed 2 Prex 3 that they kept using moving vector images instead of proper background videos. The first time I saw this technique was on the old Pump it Up arcade machines.
